Inviting bandmates
Send invite links by email, pick a role, watch them land in the band.
Inviting bandmates
Invite a bandmate by email. They get a link. They click it, sign in, they're on your band.
In the welcome wizard
Step two of onboarding is the invite step. Drop one or more email addresses into the textarea (comma or new-line separated) and hit Send invites. Every address gets its own link.
If you're not ready to invite anyone yet, Skip for now moves you to the library step — you can invite later from band settings.
After onboarding
Open the band dropdown in the top-right → Band settings. The Invite members form lives at the top. Enter an email, pick a role, hit Send invite.

Roles
Two roles to choose from:
- Member — full access to songs, setlists, gigs, the stage view. Can't invite, can't change band-level settings, can't delete the band.
- Admin — everything a member can do, plus invite people, manage settings, manage gigs. Co-leader territory.
The user who created the band is the owner. Owner = admin powers plus the ability to delete the band and transfer ownership. You can't invite someone directly as owner; that only changes via explicit transfer.
What they see
The invitee gets an email titled You're invited to {your band name} on Loadout with an Accept invite button. Clicking it:
- Lands them at the accept page.
- If they don't have a Loadout account yet, drops them into sign-up with the invited email pre-filled.
- After they sign up (or sign in, if they already have an account), processes the invite and adds them to your band.
The invite email also auto-verifies their email address — that link in their inbox proves they control the address, so they don't need a separate verification round-trip.
Pending and resending
Pending invites show up in band settings under the form. Each row has Resend (re-email the same link) and Revoke (kill the link for good).
Heads up: Invite links are valid for 14 days. After that they expire and the invitee needs a fresh one — just click Resend to extend them another 14 days from now. Resend is rate-limited to three sends per invite per hour.
Tip: If a bandmate says they never got the invite, check Pending invites to confirm it's still pending (not already accepted), then hit Resend. If it still doesn't arrive, check their spam folder — Resend mail occasionally lands there for first-time addresses. See Invite not arriving for the full triage.
What's next
- Add your first songs
- Your first setlist — once you have songs and bandmates, you can hand them a list.
